The result: Digitalization has a high or even essential significance for almost all respondents. However, many are lagging behind in the introduction of digital processes.
In inventory management, classic tasks such as planning and forecasting are already carried out digitally by the majority of companies. Less common are goods receipt control and controlling using software. Production planning came in last place. One reason: Many companies do not even know that they can also carry out detailed planning with an inventory management solution. However, this is an important step on the path to networked inventory management 4.0. All processes along the value-added and supply chain are digitally controlled on one platform.
